Organization & Authority

VEIL is governed by the Director-General, who reports directly to the Head of House Veyrath. Strategic decisions are reviewed by a Directorate Council composed of the chiefs of the major operational branches.

Directorates

Detection & Intelligence — identifies potential cases through open sources, partner reporting, telemetry, pattern analysis and Veyrath intelligence channels.

Field Operations — conducts site investigation, evidence recovery, surveillance and liaison with local authorities.

Research & Analysis — coordinates scientific work and maintains models of confirmed unknown phenomena.

Response Command — controls the Vanguard Response Units and crisis deployment.

Contact Office — handles communication with intelligent non-human, non-state or otherwise unfamiliar actors when dialogue is possible.

Archive Directorate — preserves cases, revisions, operational records and chain-of-custody documentation.

Integrity Office — internal review, ethics, misuse investigations and oversight of extraordinary authorities.

VEIL Override

A confirmed high-impact Unknown may trigger a temporary VEIL Override. This permits the Directorate to request specified Veyrath Security, Veyrath Group, transport, communications or research resources. The override applies to the incident, not to the entire institution, and is auditable after the emergency.

No House member may unilaterally classify an unknown intelligence as hostile solely on the basis of origin or appearance.
